GreenPower Motor Company produces a full line of high-floor as well as low-floor all-electric heavy-duty and medium-duty vehicles. The EV Star Cab & Chassis is their flagship vehicle, and can be adapted to suit a variety of applications. The design of the platform is based on a clear sheet of paper, which allows for optimal placement of the battery and a lower center-of-gravity. This results in better range/payload ratios.
The EV Star REEFERX is designed to meet the needs of mid-to-last mile refrigerated delivery and catering. The class 4 refrigerated truck's one interior wall structure and higher insulation compared to traditional trucks enable seamless sanitation, better temperature control, and a longer life. The EV Star REEFERX offers superior capacity for cargo and a top payload-to-range ratio for zero emission passenger transport and goods.

We were capable of testing the EV9 on the local highway for a few hours and found it to be easy to drive and comfortable to drive long distances. The EV9 can block wind and road noise while driving on the highway. It is smooth on ruts and humps. The acceleration is surprisingly quick and the vehicle has adjustable regenerative braking to enable "one pedal driving" by lifting off of the accelerator.
The EV9 has a great range and can be fully charged within three hours at home, or with any commercial charger. The driver has the option of choosing between two operating modes: eco mode and sport mode. Eco mode prioritizes torque, cruise control and handling, while sport mode increases speed. Both are a lot of fun to drive and provide a unique driving experience for anyone who has never been in an electric vehicle before.
GreenPower offers several other eVehicles that include a multi-purpose all-electric minibus, called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA-compliant and can be used as executive shuttles, microtransit or transit vanpools, buses, or paratransit vehicles.
GreenPower is currently producing around 10 EV Star buses a month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority, which is working to replace their fleet of diesel vehicles with 100 fully electric vehicles. With the Biden Administration looking to electrify school buses nationwide, GreenPower plans on ramping up production to meet demand. Their EV Star bus is the first of its kind to be tested in Altoona and FMVSS-certified, Buy America compliant and ADA certified. This means that they are eligible for green Electric scooter, opensourcebridge.science, federal transit assistance grants. Stay tuned when we follow the AV Star on its demonstration tour later in the year. We will be sure to give more details about this EV that is truly innovative!
