Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that clean and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning both dry and wet messes in one go without the need to switch between devices. They can also help save space compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bin and fill up their water tank, and machine-wash their mopping pads from a dedicated dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's one of the simplest robots to install that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and the quick-start guide will get you up and running with a clean, complete dust bag, a hard floor solution and water tank in no time.
The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that cleans up a mess and vacuums well too. The mops spin at a high rate and employ 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The auto vacuum and mop has four power modes, a variety of brushes and attachments, and a user-friendly application that lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.
You could, for instance, ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and its smart navigation technology are also excellent as the robot is able to detect tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. Its only minor issue is that it tends to hit objects and walls at full speed - but just a glance at the history of cleaning in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing, where it's going and the obstacles it's avoided.
A handy LCD screen on the docking station tells you when maintenance tasks are required including emptying the debris tray, and rinsing its dirty water tank. It is also able to mix detergent into the water tank by itself, using a 600ml eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time, with the mop capable of operating for 184 minutes in Quiet mode, and the vacuum capable of running for 136 minutes in normal mode before needing to recharge or return to the base to refill. The app is simple to use and intuitive that lets you see all the details of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's flagship robot cleaner mop and Robots That Vacuum and Mop vacuum. The model of this year features two agitators built into its mopping pad. This enhances the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power that allows it to pick up smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaners might miss.
Like the other two Roborock models I've tried the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates a dual-camera that can identify objects, determining if they are walls or other surfaces. It then can alter its course automatically and clean the objects, without missing a step.
It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, but it's also packed with features. Its sleek, angular design is eye catching, and it only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which resumes the cleaning mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles as a child-lock and a home-button that can bring the robot hoover to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml tank of water. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin automatically refills.
The only issue I have discovered with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if it's required), it's a pain to remove the mount itself to wash it manually. I've observed that any carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mounts, which could cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app allows you to manage and configure these advanced features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor the battery life and maintain your components. But you'll need to jump through a few hurdles to enable voice control with this model, which is a shame considering the performance of this model.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its clever design permits customized and efficient cleaning while saving you time.
The X40 is the first robotic automatic vacuum and mop robot cleaner to deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the most effective options available. This powerful vacuum removes dry debris, including pet hair and crumbs. It also comes with a high-quality mop that makes hard floors sparkling clean, even with a wet pad. The X40 is also extremely quiet while in use, with only occasional bursts during mode changes or self-maintenance.
The X40 also comes with a side brush that is able to be lifted and extended. This lets it reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean furniture with curved edges like table and chair legs. It also lets the robot to reach under low-profile furniture, making it a great choice for small apartments and condominiums with small spaces. The side brush automatically lowers itself when it spots wet spots. This is a nice touch that helps the X40 keep floors safe from damage caused by repeated back-andforth movements.
Unlike other robots, which are limited to one task, the X40 can vacuum and mop simultaneously. It can also be programmed to skip areas with carpets and mop only hard floors, and vice versa. It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operations.
The app is easy to use and intuitive, and the X40 is equipped with many clever features that are easy to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, look at floor plans and maps, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also track its progress, and alert you when it's done.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous convenient features, making it a perfect choice for busy families. The docking station will automatically cleans the dustbin and mop pads before refilling them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It also can detect whether the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and alert you to the situation before it spills.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive on the market and comes with a lot of additional features that make it stand out. The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub. This utilizes two mops that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and it has the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is more than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can clean pet hair and other small dirt particles - in addition to removing spills and wet spots.
Its mops are also dried and cleaned inside the base station after each use. This is a great feature as it stops the growth of mould and unpleasant odours in the storage area, and it also makes mop systems more efficient. This is an option we haven't seen on other robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home cleaner longer.
There's an impressive amount of settings on offer that include the ability to schedule cleaning and alter a variety of preferences. The app lets you set these preferences or make use of the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and has a lot of options to customize the cleaning routine, and there are many features that other robots don't include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles rather than using an individual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen on market, with metallic and white design that is elegant and stylish. It is a little heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this list however it's not a lot of weight. It feels solid and well-built. Mopping is well designed, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors or in corners. They can also reach down to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice touch.
