The Vigabatrin REMS Program is needed by the FDA to ensure notified risk-benefit decisions prior to starting treatment, and to ensure appropriate use of vigabatrin while patients are treated. It is not feasible for your healthcare provider to understand when vision loss will take place.
It is suggested that your healthcare provider test your (or your kid's) vision before or within 4 weeks after beginning SABRIL and at least every 3 months throughout therapy until SABRIL is stopped. Inform your healthcare provider if you or your kid have any type of side effect that troubles you or that does not disappear.
Tell your doctor if you are expectant or plan to obtain expecting. If vision screening can not be done, your healthcare provider may continue prescribing SABRIL, however will certainly not be able to look for any type of vision loss.
